Junge Setzlinge ragen aus der Erde

14th November 2017 | Bonn, Germany

The international symposium, which has taken place during the World Climate Conference in Bonn, offered the audience of 300 participants a colorful mixture of experts’ contributions, panel discussions as well as workshops and inputs dealing with climate and education for sustainable development. The event was organized together by the ESD Expert Net and Engagement Global.

The event , which was open to all interested visitors, focused on the debate about how education policy and practice can be adjusted in a way that factual knowledge on climate change is imparted and at the same time today’s generation gains the essential competency to actively promote the preservation of the earth and her natural resources and to reflect their own actions and behaviour.

Besides the opportunity to get inspired by experts’ contributions and discussions, moderated by Ralph Caspers, the participants got the chance to be actively involved. In different kinds of workshops dealing with climate and education for sustainable development the participants were asked to put forward their opinions, experiences and perspectives. The event was rounded off by a festive evening reception where the expert network introduced itself and its activities. Moreover, patrons as well as participants of the Song Contest “Dein Song für EINE WELT!“ (“Your Song for ONE WORLD!”) performed on stage.
