Mentoring for ESD-Leadership

Mentoring for ESD-Leadership is a mentoring programme for young professionals and graduates from Germany, India, Mexico and South Africa who work or who want to work in ESD. In addition to the expert training, the heart of the programme is, above all, supporting national and international mentors to realise their own practical ideas in the field of ESD.

Sustainable development requires role models who are able to convince other people of their importance and to motivate them to participate in future sustainable development. Therefore, Mentoring for ESD-Leadership is not just about the implementation of individual projects, but rather, above all, also about the development of “ESD Leadership” competencies - skills that are necessary to realise visions, make change and inspire others.

Through years of experience implementing Leadership Training, participating in such and through their own professional expertise, all ESD Expert Net members have the necessary know-how to support such processes. We want to encourage young people who want to shape the future in a sustainable way. Here is an overview of past activities:

Mentoring for ESD-Leadership builds on this Leadership Training and offers a new approach through the interaction of individual support and international exchange.

Selected applicants for telephone interviews will be notified shortly.

Mentoring is the most effective means of building upon existing know-how and transforming the practitioners of today into the leaders of tomorrow by imparting hands-on experience in ESD. In the “Mentoring for ESD-Leadership”-Programme, the Mentees will get an exposure to the global ESD Expert Net and a chance to interact with 20 Mentors and an equal number of resource persons representing institutions from across Germany, India, Mexico and South Africa. The programme is tailor made for young professionals (18years old or above) from the four countries involved.
