Meeting of the international working group “Evaluation”
From 30.08.2019-02.09.2019 a meeting of the international working group “Evaluation” took place in Berlin. The proposal for this course has arisen from the need for innovative, learning-centered approaches to evaluation for, in and of ESD programmes and activities and to enhance the experience in evaluation among ESD practitioners, in the network and beyond. The course will be piloted at institutions in Mexico, Germany and South Africa, making it available to ESD Expert Net community and also to students and practitioners beyond the Network. A collaborative concept paper has been developed over the past two years, led by Rob O’Donoghue. The key ideas were shared in a round table consultation by Eureta Rosenberg and Deepika Joon at the Comparative and International Education Society Conference in San Francisco US in April 2019.
In the meeting in Berlin, the members deliberated upon objectives content, structure, rollout plan of the course on Evaluation and most importantly the designing of the course. Considering several international and national developments to rethink the purpose of evaluation, this working group aims to contribute to this new emerging paradigm within evaluation through capacity building of ESD Practitioners evaluation.
