4Wildlife – From the rainforest into the classroom
4Wildlife is an innovative educational project and explores the topics of biodiversity and species conservation in rainforests. The use of augmented reality technology in the app ensures that the pupils can dive even deeper into the topic: It allows them to feel like they are standing in the middle of a Guatemalan rainforest, which helps them to better understand the living conditions of the species and the relevance of biodiversity on our planet. The learning content has been created for pupils from grade 7 and older and the app and educational material are available free of charge here (insert link). The use of the educational material supports action-oriented lessons and supports the learners in developing competences for the co-creation of a sustainable world. The (innovative) use of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) thus contributes to the implementation of the Agenda 2030 and the defined 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
4Wildlife is a cooperation of the non-profit associations Nepada Wildlife e.V. and The Turquoise Change e.V., represented by Hannah Emde (mentee in the ongoing Mentoring for ESD Leadership Programme 2020-21) and Katarina Rončevič (mentor and member of the ESD Expert Net).
