Around 750 participants were discussing the role of education to reach the international Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the international conference held by the Centre for Environmental Education (CEE).
Ten members of the ESD Expert Net from India, Germany, South Africa and Mexico contributed to the provision of different three-day workshops to examine the question of which contribution a high quality education in schools and extracurricular should play in reaching each objective of the SDGs. Thus, case studies and projects from actual practice were presented and relevant knowledge and competences were discussed.
At the conclusion of the conference an action plan, which describes recommendations of action for concrete implementation strategies, was adopted.
