ESD Expert Net arranges contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals – 10th international ESD Expert Net Meeting in Mexico

45 members of the ESD Expert Net came together to their yearly network meeting in Saltillo, Mexico from 21st to 25th November 2015. An alignment concerning cooperative activities for the next two years, to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the scope of the Global Action Programme, was reached. In the future not only the Priority Action Area 4 of the Global Action Programme (“Empowering and mobilizing youth”), but also the area “Building capacities of educators and trainers” (Priority Action Area 3) will be specifically supported. Following this, a guideline presenting the possibilities of integrating the SDGs and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in education is to be developed. In this context the network also plans to create training materials for multipliers in the countries involved.

The advancement of the international school garden project Go Global Garden ) with participating schools in South Africa, Mexico and Germany is a further outcome of the network meeting. Prospectively India will also be integrated in this programme and further ESD-topics are to be exchanged virtually between students with this project principle.
